Skype for Windows Phone

I’m not lucky because I’ve got a Windows Phone – HTC Surround. It is actually a very good phone. I don’t like the camera quality only. According to the device specification it must be 5 megapixel. But the image quality is really bad. I can get a decent picture only when I shoot static objects.

But today I want to talk about OS I use – Windows Phone. It is the only OS that doesn’t support Skype or Skype doesn’t support Windows Phone. In October 2011 Microsoft took over Skype. There were a lot of rumors, and everyone wish we could see Skype in the latest Windows Phone update. Microsoft had previously promised to deliver Skype for before the end of 2011, but . . .

Vice president of Skype division, Rick Osterloh, said during CES 2012 show: "We are working on a Windows Phone product that will be coming out soon". What does it mean? When exactly we can see Skype on Windows Phone? Coming soon might be anything from one month to one year. I’ve heard that Skype will be integrated to Windows Phone in Avalon only (Windows 8, that coming this fall). Get ready to wait at least 8 months.

However, Skype for Windows Phone might be available in the next three months. It will be an application we will be able to download from Windows marketplace. Integration to OS is available no early than Avalon.
